The Sidebar
The sidebar is your primary navigation. On desktop it is always visible on the left edge of the screen. On mobile, tap the hamburger menu icon in the top-left to open it — a dark overlay dims the rest of the screen while the sidebar is open.
The sidebar contains:
- RR Metrics logo at the top — click to return to the Dashboard from anywhere.
- Navigation links: Dashboard, Trades, Analytics, Strategy, Pre-Market, Settings.
- Upgrade box (if on a free trial) — shows your plan status and a one-click upgrade button.
- Guides link — opens this documentation site.
- Account button at the very bottom — click to expand a menu with Change Password and Log Out options.
The active page is highlighted in the sidebar with an accent-colored left border, making it easy to see where you are.
Dashboard
The Dashboard is the first page you see after logging in. It gives you a high-level view of your trading performance at a glance.
Stat Cards
Four cards across the top show your key metrics for the current period: Total P&L, Win Rate, Average Win, and Average Loss. These update instantly as you add or edit trades.
Equity Curve
Below the stat cards is a line chart showing your cumulative P&L plotted over time. Each point on the line represents a trade closing and the running total adjusting. A rising curve means you are net profitable over the period; a falling curve means net losses. Use this to quickly spot drawdown periods and recovery patterns.
Calendar Heatmap
The calendar grid colors each trading day by its net P&L. Green shades indicate profitable days; red shades indicate losing days. The intensity of the color scales with the magnitude — a dark green day means a big win; a pale green day means a small profit.
Click any colored day to expand it below the calendar and see all individual trades from that session, with entry/exit details and P&L for each. Use the arrow buttons at the top of the calendar to navigate between years.
Trades Page
The Trades page is your complete trade log — every trade you've entered, sorted by date with the most recent at the top.
Trade Table
Each row shows: Date & Time, Ticker, Direction (Long/Short), Entry Price, Exit Price, Quantity, P&L, and any Tags. Click a row to expand it — the expanded view shows your full notes, any attached chart screenshot, and Edit / Delete buttons.
Search and Filter
Use the search bar at the top to filter trades by ticker symbol or keywords from your notes. The tag filter lets you show only trades with a specific tag. The date range filter scopes the table to a chosen period.
Adding and Editing Trades
The + Add Trade button opens the trade entry form. To edit an existing trade, expand its row and click Edit. Changes are saved immediately.
Analytics Page
The Analytics page provides deep performance data. At the top, a date range filter and optional tag filter scope all charts to a specific period or setup.
- Summary stats: Total trades, total P&L, win rate, profit factor, average win/loss, best/worst trade, average duration.
- Equity curve: Cumulative P&L over the filtered period.
- P&L distribution: Histogram showing how trade outcomes are spread.
- Time-of-day heatmap: Average P&L by hour — identify your best and worst trading windows.
- Day-of-week breakdown: Performance by day of the week.
- Tag performance table: Win rate, average P&L, and total P&L for every tag you've used.
Strategy Page
The Strategy page is your trading playbook. Create named strategy cards with a description of the entry rules, stop placement, and targets. Assign trades to strategies when logging them. Each strategy card then shows a live summary of that strategy's win rate, average P&L, and total contribution.
Click a strategy card to see every trade assigned to it — useful for identifying whether execution problems or the setup itself is causing underperformance.
Pre-Market Page
The Pre-Market page is your daily preparation workspace. It has two main components:
- Checklist: Custom items (e.g., "Check overnight futures," "Mark key levels") that you tick off each morning. Items auto-reset at a configured time so you start fresh every day.
- Economic calendar: Today's scheduled economic releases — Fed decisions, CPI, NFP, GDP — with time, impact level, and previous/forecast values.
Pro and Elite subscribers can also configure a Discord webhook to receive an automatic daily brief with the economic calendar in their chosen Discord channel.
Settings Page
Settings is organized into tabs:
- Broker Connections — Enter credentials for Tradovate or NinjaTrader and sync your trade history automatically.
- Account — View your subscription status, upgrade plan, change your password, or delete your account.
- Appearance — Toggle between dark and light mode. Elite users can customize the accent color and other theme values.
- Tags — Create, view, and delete the tags available for use when logging trades.
- Pre-Market — Set your checklist reset time, timezone, and Discord webhook URL.
