Using the Pre-Market Planner

Build a daily game plan before the market opens. Log key levels, bias, and checklist items — then let the planner reset automatically each morning.

Why Pre-Market Preparation Matters

Traders who plan before the market opens make better decisions during it. When you know your bias, your key levels, and what you're looking for, you trade your plan instead of reacting impulsively to price action. The Pre-Market Planner gives you a structured space to do this every day.

Accessing the Pre-Market Page

Click Pre-Market in the sidebar. This page is available to all users but some features (Discord webhooks) require a Pro or Elite subscription.

Building Your Checklist

The checklist is a list of tasks you want to complete every morning before trading. Each item has a checkbox that you tick off as you work through your routine.

1

Add Checklist Items

Type a task into the input field at the bottom of the checklist and press Enter or click Add. Items are saved immediately.

2

Check Items Off

Each morning, go through your checklist and tick off items as you complete them. Checked items are visually struck through so you can see your progress at a glance.

3

Auto-Reset

The checklist automatically resets at a configured time each day — all items are unchecked so you start fresh the next morning. Set your reset time in Settings.

Example Checklist Items

Setting the Daily Reset Time

In Settings, find the Pre-Market section. Set the time you want your checklist to reset each day — typically a few hours before your market opens. For US futures traders, common choices are 3:00 AM or 6:00 AM ET.

Times are set in your local timezone as configured in Settings. The reset happens server-side, so it works even if you're not logged in at the time.

Economic Calendar

Below the checklist, the Pre-Market page shows today's scheduled economic releases — Fed announcements, CPI, NFP, GDP, and other high-impact events. Each event shows:

Tip: High-impact events like CPI, FOMC decisions, and NFP often cause sharp moves. Many traders avoid holding positions into these releases or widen stops to account for the volatility. Knowing they're coming is the first step.

Discord Webhook Integration

Pro and Elite subscribers can configure a Discord webhook to receive an automatic daily brief in a Discord channel. This brief includes the day's economic events and can serve as a reminder to complete your pre-market routine.

1

Create a Discord Webhook

In Discord, open your server settings, go to Integrations → Webhooks, and click New Webhook. Choose the channel where you want the alerts, then copy the webhook URL.

2

Paste the URL into Settings

In RR Metrics Settings, find the Discord Webhook field under Pre-Market. Paste the webhook URL and click Save.

3

Configure Send Time

Set the time you want the daily brief sent. This can be the same as your checklist reset time, or earlier — for example, 6:00 AM to get the summary in your Discord before you sit down at your desk.
